Mini Statement

Let me set the scene.......
It's 8.35 on Monday morning, 29th March 2010. I'm stood at the cash machine staring at the LCD screen in front of me, with starry eyes. An event had occurred that I had been waiting for in giddy anticipation for around 3 weeks. I had been paid!
Now, I know what you're thinking; “How predictable. Something incredibly boring and ordinary has wafted towards Ben, and he has fallen in love with it, again!”, and you’re probably right. I mean I have been paid many times before, and acted like a normal person and, naturally, quickly spent it all.
But this time was special.
If you’ve been a regular reader over the past three weeks (and lets face it, who isn’t?), you will know that I have been brassic, and have been longing for pay day to come like a fat kid waiting for Dominoes to bring out the ‘Chocolate Pizza’ (also me).
That moment at the cash machine was not so different from the time, at the age of 5, when my dad produced a shiny ‘Terrence The Tractor’ figure, from Thomas The Tank Engine, from his bag, instantly making my day, and indeed my life! On both occasions, I was smiling out load, and plan to retain this feeling at the end of every month.
The most important point to take from this memory ramble is that at the end of the day, it really is the act of giving, rather than the gift itself that is remembered and most appreciated. This sounds immeasurably cheesy and pathetic, but its dreamy moments at cash machines that do that to you, honest!
I wish to thank everyone who has helped me out with cash, and food, over the last month. I will repay all of you, both in money, drink and happiness, and will never forget your forgiving hands that have outstretched in my direction.
So, to all of my mates, and all of my family; You are the watch towers. You are the light that emanates! Thank you!

p.s. Full synopsis on the glorious Chocolate Pizza to come soon!
