Vienna Ditto

We all have those moments in life where we stumble across something so fascinating and ear catching that we’re forced to sit up and listen. While catching a brief glimpse at an otherwise dull and uninspiring episode of the Hollyoaks Music Show, some will have witnessed such a moment of aural clarity as Vienna Ditto held the stage, seeming like a sprouting rose amongst the thorns.
On closer inspection, the 3 piece rising from Reading, Oxford and London collectively appear to flying the flag for a soul soaked indie rock revolution in the coming year. Having already featured on the BBC Introducing stage at last years Glastonbury Festival, and providing a session at the coveted Maida Vale studios, it is clear that those special moments are happening all over the place.
Stand out single, 'Long Way Down' offers a fine sample taste into the band's sound laced with soulful vocals from Hatty Taylor, and energetic yet skillfully mastered backing from Nigel Firth and Scotty Lawrence.
It would not be wrong to assume that Vienna Ditto could well be shooting up the bill at many of this summer's festivals, with a strong repertoire and bags of cool class, bound to draw a gasp from everyone’s lips.
Vienna Ditto are living proof that there is light in the dark, that good things do come out of poor sources; its just a case of looking hard enough. Keep your eyes, and ears, peeled for Vienna Ditto this year as they could just well be the summer sound you've been looking for.
